Default Saner anti-roll bar

I have an opportunity to get a used Saner bar. Can someone give me a history lesson / schooling on these?

The bar is said to be about 1 year old.

The bar in question was on an older car and mine is an '04. Will it fit my car (I can't see why not but have no expertise here)?

Is there anything I should look at changing prior to an install (endlinks, bushings)?

If I should get the autox bug bad, is the bar stiff enough to keep sticky rubber planted at the back? It is 1.25 inches in diameter.

The bar looks good and complete except for some small spacers on the end link bolts. There are three narrow and three wide so I am guessing I would need one more of each.

There are no directions with the bar so I may need some help to ensure the end linds are the right way around and the little spacers as well.

As always and other information, stories, experiences are welcome.

Well, now that I have waded through the search content, I see that even the more experienced here have many unresolved issues with this bar. Leaving me with more questions than answers.

After seeing all the thread traffic that has transpired over this bar, I am suprised that there have been virtually no comments on my query.

Should I just stay away from it all together?

There are no comments because Gloffer nailed it. We're sick of saying the same stuff over and over and over and over and over...

I'll say only this. I have a Saner. I have it set to the softest setting (of 3). I wouldn't take it off my car and replace it with my OEM sway bar for $1000.

I like this product. After I installed it, and pushed it in the turns (with appropriately warm tires, of course), I made this phrase to tell folks how much I like its added control to the S2000, "My S sticks to the road like a burnt egg in the bottom of a frying pan."

Now, that said, I also have Koni yellows set at lowest perch, as well as KG/MM SuperSport springs. But all this together is a great setup (for me). Also, others have advanced the Saner (and other aftermarket bars) to even firmer settings......usually with the results being that the front end of the car plows into turns instead of taking the turn. My experience is that the softest setting on the Saner yields a great balance to keeping the S2000's "tail whip" characteristics to a minimum.

Hope that helps...

I had problems with the saner end links, I ended up changing them for a more solid end link. I would suggest you look into getting the new spacers as a min and be prepared to tighten them regularly (and check for wear). But I have to say the bar is sweet when on the track. I have it set on the middle setting, with Koni yellows on stiff and the car handles great.

Dale was your Saner an early effort/version? I seem to remember Saner had to "iron out" their end link issues. Although I'd placed a pre-order on the bar, I seem to remember Saner sending me alternative endlinks or something while I'd awaited them sending me *instructions* to install (something it had taken a while to get them to do).

But in that interim wait, they *did* develop instructions...and they'd discovered issues with their endlinks that they'd corrected along the way.

The endlink issues are still there, but really only show up when you use the bar on full stiff, as most autocrossers do.

Dave,

I was the one who posted the problem and pictures of the spacers for the endlinks. Apparently Mr. Saner fixed some peoples bars with updated endlink spacers. I just got tired of waiting and not getting any return phone calls from him. So I opted to buy a set of Mc Master endlinks and weld them onto the middle setting. No more clunks and rattles. The bar is the way it should of been from day one.
