Yes, I have canvased the "Read Me's" already and have not gotten any personal experience info.
I'm looking for advice from someone who's "been there" and gone through the competitive racing setup meeting SCCA specs. A personal experience with a specific shop here in Southern California would be great too.
Car is in California and has the existing setup:
-OZ 18" Staggered Wheels with 255/35ZR18 rubber in the rear and 225/40R18 up front
-Brembo BBK infront
-Exhaust Cutout
Thats it. I got all the personal safety wearables + Harness.
I know I need the items below and there are already resources here for info on some of this:
-System Shutoff's
-Fire Suppression System
-Roll Cage
-Racing Seat
Let me know if you can help.

I've been going through the same process.
2 notes:
- find out who the tech/cage inspector is and ask what rollcage shop s/he recommends; it's best when those 2 can communicate
- SCCA requires that any fuel lines in the driving compartment are behind metal - you'll need to enclose the stock fuel filler hose or install a fuel-cell

And when are you coming to SCCA anyway - to Cracknut?
So, if the stars align, Sears in Sept. Otherwise Thill in Sept.

Actually completely stock with the rubber surround passes. As soon as you do a cell it gets harder.

I would suggest going to SCCA.com and reading the GCR(Rule Book). Then you can decide which class you would like to run(T3,EP,ITR,STU,ITE). In T3 and ITR other than the general safety items a stock car is legal(not necessarily competitive but legal).

What I'm looking for is someone to give me a sort of "lessons learned" from their experience with any of the classes and what shops they used.
