Default SCCA Solo classifications?

Did the SCCA make and announce a final decision on Boxster S and S2000 classing?

All that I've heard about the reclassification comes form this thread: http://www.s2000online.com/forums/showthre...?threadid=31281

The gist is S2000 - BS and Boxster S - SS. I find it strange that there is a 2-category spacing between the two cars. If this is true, the Boxster S drivers will have their hands full taking on the 400+ hp Corvette ZO6 drivers! We get to continue the battle against the Boxster drivers!

It's not "official" but sounds pretty reliable. Any other corroberation?

Thanks... Missed the earlier thread. NOT what I was expecting, but good for S2000 AutoX guys!

I was just at an autoX event in asheville this weekend 10/21/2001 and I ran in the "AS" Catagory. I was in with Porsche 911 and the ferrari 's and one other S2000. I saw the Catagory Def. book.

I think those are the current classifications, not the "new" classifications for next season.

I was at a SCCA Solo II event yesterday. It is my understanding that the final determination has not yet been made.

Ray, just click on the thread linked above. Realize that Howard Duncan, if he is not the man who makes the rules, at least everyone believes that he is.

It's likely that not everyone is clued in to this news, as this forum is the only place I've seen it. I'm not sure if it's been officially posted on the SCCA web site. I think that's what is known as a "leak".
