Default SCCA A/Stock Alignment

There have been quite a few posts on alignment, but in spite of the number of Solo 2 drivers out there, I haven't seen a set of really definitive A/Stock settings.

So what is the story?

Camber, caster, toe...front and rear...and with which tires...Kumho, Hoosier, Goodrich...and which sizes...245/45, 265/45????

Thanks,

David

Opinions are like arses - everyone has one. However, the most commonly used alignment seems to be something on the order of:

Front:
1/8" total toe-out
5.5-6.0 deg. caster
-1.5 deg. camber

Rear:
1/4"-1/2" total toe-in
-2.5 deg. camber

Note that this will destroy street tires pretty quickly. I've got mine set with -1.0 deg. camber on the front and -2.0 deg. rear with 0 toe at the front and ~1/2" total toe in the rear and it's wearing the insides of the street tires at a faster rate than the rest. Not horrible and a trip to VA. with these settings didn't allow for much cornering to help with even wear.

Tires - yet another opinion. If you want the ultimate, get Hoosiers - lighter than the Kumhos. They'll wear more quickly and cost more per set. I use Kumhos for these reasons. In any event, 225/50 front and 245/45 rear is the way to go but watch out for oversteer - the ratio of the widths (front to rear) changes significantly from the stock tires. Stock tires have ~1.5" difference in width and the grooves/void area of the rears is much less than the front. Kumhos have only 0.5" difference and the void is the same. A wider rear would be better but the only ones available are significantly taller. You can still get BFG G-Force R1s in 205/55 front and 245/45 rear but most folks experience with this model are less than acceptable. YMMV...
