SCCA Thunderhill race report?
Interesting weekend. Had my first contact in a race, then my second third and fourth contact 
Ry didn't make it for the 2 races on Sunday. He had a miss shift during Qual that he caught in time to prevent immediate catastrophic results but still managed to start cracks in a number of retainers.
The first race i started on the inside of row three with Bobcat on the second row outside. After T1 i'm right behind Bobcat trying to keep up with him and his fresh set of Hoosiers only to find him pulling away slowly but surely. By the end of the first lap Bob has a couple second gap and is pressuring the front runners exchanging positions a few time in the process.
In the mean time the Vette thats right behind me muscles by on the front straight, seeing it coming i take a slightly later apex on T1 and end up almost side by side on the exit of T1. He muscles forward a bit but cant shut the door on me in T2 as i out brake him for the pass on the inside. The Vette was no longer an issue after that pass.
After that i managed to pick up my pace a bit and start to gain ground on Bobcat. After a couple laps i'm right behind him again and i can see that he is struggling with tires and brakes as his pace slowly drops off falling back from the front runners. Even with his pace slowing it still took me 3 or 4 laps to pass him and make it stick.
So i'm now in fourth place and dont see any hope of catching the 3 front runners. Not that i stop trying.
A few laps later whats this i see? I'm gaining ground on Kibort, he must be having car problems. A lap later i'm past him and in third place, turns out he lost an alternator.
A lap after that the lead Camero pulls off to the side with some sort of problem. WhoooHoo i'm in Second place! And whats this? the lead Vette seems to be way off his pace. Over the next couple laps i manage make up most of the ground between us. Which is strange as he is well over a second faster than me on this track.
Anyway, here i am on the last lap and i'm right behind him going into T10. At T11 i see him get a bit sideways and we manage to get side by side going onto the back straight. Turns out he miss shifted. Apparently he was surprised to see me there and was caught off guard.
I'm thinking to myself how the hell can i take advantage of this situation? Turns out i cant
He hits the go pedal and there is nothing i can do but watch as he motors away from me taking the checker a turn later.

so in theroy I could actually make money taking out weight.
lead is expensive, I can get about 75 cents per lb. thats 225 bucks!!!
