Haven't seen that book before, but the first link has a pretty good list. I especially agree with #'s 1,2,6, and 12; all my best/most memorable laps on track have made the most of those guidelines. It doesn't apply quite as well to autocross; while they are no less true (#26 especially good), if you take the time to actually worry about things like #13, you're going to be behind everywhere.

I've also been known to disobey #8 on occasion...

The book that was scanned is "Speed Secrets" by Ross Bentley and it is a very helpful book.
I can vouch for that. The list of brief speed secrets is helpful, but the full discussion of each one is even more so. To me, once you've got #'s 3 & 4 down, #14 seems to be the big key to nailing #12 since it has so much to do with balancing the car. Another thing... #22 is so true! Oh, and don't screw up #9!!!

I still like Carl Lopez' "Going Faster" better, but both books are very good.
