setup fo x-cross
i did in the past ~10 x-cross sessions with Miatas - but now my first one with S is comming.
i know you don't like to do it - but give me some tips.
mine is my07 with stock size staggered tires, Z1 star specs.
tein monoflex coilovers.
i usually pump up tire pressure to 3-5 psi over my normal (my usual is ~38 psi on hot).
our courses are very tight - with Miata i was doing it on second gear and sometimes it made sense to go for 1st.
what about S? is doing it in 1st not to hard on her?
and finally - what's the good start with coilovers' stiffness settings?
stiff (stiffest???) rear and few clicks softer on the front?

I'm going to try the 65% critical damping camp for next season and you can read more about that here ---> http://farnorthracing.com/autocross_secrets.html
For you, I would just start as soft and work my way up untill one end or the other does something you don't like, then back off. This is very basic and does not take into account the rest of the car's setup.
Trending Topics
we're done.
20 participants.
1 EVO8 modded (everything), 2 BMW Z4Ms modded (one has everything the other one with ECU and exhaust mods), ~4 nc Miatas with modded suspension+intake+exhaust+ecu, one s2000 (mine - with Monoflex, AEMv2 and sotck AP2 size Z1 star specs), one NA turbo miata, one NA Miata with JDM NB engine+gear+lsd, rest are pretyy much stock nc/nb miatas.
we had 2 sessions (each ~30 sec for a run) with one try run and 3 measured runs for each.
All participants with under 200tdw tires got 0.75% penalty (one advan neova 08 and quite a lot Toyo R1Rs).
in the first session i had 2nd time and came 4th in final after missing a gear on the downshift.
in the second session i had 4th time (after Evo and two Z4Ms) and came 3rd in final.
those are my best results ever
