Default SM2 vs BSP Rules

I have been reading SCCA rules for solo2 and would like to verify an item. Is is correct that the big difference between SM2 and Street Prepared is that in SM we can add forced inductionor ITBs? But with Streeet prepared we, S2000, can only add ITBs?
Also, willl a Comptech blower from an AP1 car fit and work on an AP@ car?
Thanks, Rich

I'm not up on SM2 rules, but you are correct that forced induction is not allowed on S2k for BSP.

I'm guessing the biggie with SM2 is the potential for engine swaps, but there isn't a good alternative for the S2k.

SM2 allows aftermarket FI. It's also the place you need to play if you have swapped to a different final drive in the diff.

There are a lot more options in SM2 tht you can't run in BSP. You are correct that BSP will allow any intake manifold modifications, but no addition of forced induction. SM2 will also allow body modifications such as carbon fiber or fiber glass panels. Street mod is virtually an unlimited street car class.

According to Vortech's website, their supercharger has separate listings for the 00-03, 04, and 05. so I would assume they are not compatible. Clicky

Thanks for the input. I like all the options of SM2 but am not sure that it would be competitive as it is in AS.
Thanks again, Rich

The S is definitely not nearly as competitive in SM2 as in AS. Some of the "big" boys I compete against have really crazy setups.

SM2 has little competition in our neck of the woods. I'm only in SM2 because of my hood vents. I'm pretty sure if I put my stock hood back on, I could stay in BSP with the ITB's and EMS, but I'm not sure on the computer.

SM2 allows you to pretty much fiddle with everything, and since I like to tinker, that's where I'll stay. I know I'm not anywhere near competitive (especially w/o r-comps), but it's a fun-factor for me.
