Default SoCal Fabricators?

Does anyone know a fabricator that can make a contraption to bolt the hardtop to the car without the use of the bulkhead behind the seats. I know TC Design can do it but I can't take the trip to NorCal anytime soon.

Thanks!

Alejandro

the hardtop doesn't use that part (if I'm understanding you correctly).

You mean the mean part that the stock roll hoops attach to right?

The hardtop side catchers have four bolts for attachment. Two are anchored into the side of the car, and two get anchored into the softtop motor.

If you remove the softtop, then you sort of leave the catchers cantilevered out in space.

When I had a roll bar built for me, the guy who did it welded on an attachment point that tied the missing two bolt holes of the side catcher to the roll bar.

If you don't want to use the side catchers and you just want to bolt the hardtop to the car, just weld an anchor point to the side of the car where the side catchers would be.

do you have the oem hardware? There is nothing wrong with it "hanging out in space" I've run that way for many years now.

I was wondering about that, I don't remember if you run plexiglass on your hardtop, meaning - is it lighter than mine. If not then I should be fine with the OEM hardware bolted in 2 places only...

nope, stock hardtop with the interior panels removed. -maybe- a couple lbs lighter.

Run your oem hardware you'll be fine w/ it.

remember the top is mostly resting on the body too. I've never had a problem with them at all.
