Default Soft top motor delete

i figured most of you have hard tops, but I still enjoy top down drives on weekends and to/from track events, so I still have a soft top. I have everything removed for a rollbar and am considering just removing the motors/brackets, they look to be rather heavy.

1 has anyone done this?
2 any idea the weight?
3 does the top flop around with it down and no motors?
4 Is it easy to put up?

I kept my soft top and removed just the motors. The 2 motors together weigh about 5.5 lbs. Removing the motors doesn't change the integrity of the soft top so no, it doesn't flop around and yes, it's easy to put up and down.

I just shipped a set of motors and like Renzo said, 5.5lb is about right (6lb in a shipping box). IMO it's not worth the weight, especially not for a street car. If the motors were worth a couple hundred maybe it wouldn't be as bad but you can barely give them away. It's not worth getting outside the car to put the top up/down IMO

Was that weight just the motors or was it the motors and the bracket that they attach to? Those brackets look heavy!

brackets are part of the frame you can only remove the motors themselves
