Default Spring Mountain pics

My car is still in the shop, so I rode along with my son in his Evo (#03) and took pics. Great event ... when is SV going to host a Spring Mountain event!?

I took some pics, all of which are available from Flickr at http://www.flickr.com/photos/msm/.

I tried to get a pic of the yellow Mazda Protege passing Craig in the blue Radical ... but ... well, it just didn't happen.

I rode in both the red and the orange Elise. The Elise is surpringly quick with very predictable and forgiving handling. It doesn't feel like there is much body roll from inside the car, but when following an Elise ... well ... it's surprising how much roll there is.

Not sure how I managed to not take a single pic of you in the Radical. Michael seemed to have fun in the Protege. I think it has less body roll than the Elise.

Jake and I left at about 4 PM. He had school on Mon and it's a LONG drive back.

I would guess that's the shock valving that gives it that feel. Lots of low-speed damping so when you change direction, the car doesn't pitch over as fast as most cars do and you get the sensation that it's not pitching. My car feels like that with my JRZs - from inside, it feels like there's no body roll at all, but when I see pictures of it, there's still quite a bit.

I want to get back out to Pahrump. I went there back in 03 for my first attempt to actually go fast. I had been to a couple track events before, but those were just kinda screw around days where I didn't learn anything. But Pahrump was my first day with SV and my first day out where I thought I was going to be fast and wasn't. There have been a lot of those, come to think of it...

I doubt the extension will be finished by 30-Apr. No real construction had even started as of last weekend. The extension was staked out though. I walked a lot of it on Sun. It looks like the extension will include some nice elevation changes.
