A-Stock AP2 Tires
I did a search on this topic, but most everything I found was at least 6-8 months old, and I'm hoping people have had some more experience with this since then.
I just got an extra set of AP2 rims for racing, and I'm trying to decide what tires to put on them. I have stock suspension/alignment. Will the V710 245/45F & 275/40R combo fit on these rims with no rubbing? Some people were saying yes, others saying no.
If there is rubbing, I think I'll go with the 225/45F & 255/40R Victoracers....unless anyone has any other ideas.
Also, how important will a Front Sway Bar be? Is the car Auto-X'able on R-compounds without one?

We run 245/45/17 and 275/40/17 v710 with a saner bar and have no rubbing issues whatsoever on stock wheels. We do have max negative camber in the front with stock suspension. We have run on asphalt and concrete with no issues

BTW, my guess is that without a FSB you will rub.
Is a car with that much camber suitable as a daily driver? Won't that shred my street tires?
What's everyone think about a 225/275 Victoracer setup? Would I have any rubbing issues in the rear? It seems to be a lot closer to the stock F/R tread width ratio (numbers coming from tire rack website):
Stock RE050's:
F 6.7"
R 9.0"
Ratio:0.744
Victo 225/255:
F 8.6"
R 9.7"
Ratio: 0.886
Victo 225/275:
F 8.6"
R 10.3"
Ratio: 0.834
and just for the heck of posting it here:
V710 245/275:
F 9.4"
R 11.4"? (my guess based on overall width, since tread width is not listed)
Ratio: 0.825

I am running max camber on mine as well(-1.8) with the comptech front bar with the 245/275 V710 setup and am getting a little rubbing on the tabs as has been mentioned here. Its not bad, I doubt I will have to replace the tabs but maybe once every 3-5 events, and they are only 0.75 each on HandA Accessories, I grabbed like 30 of them to hold me over. The rubbing isnt hitting the liner at all, its just the tabs that hold it in.
-1.8 camber is not going to be that detrimental to tire wear. I ran -2.5 degrees on my street driven Prelude and there was slightly more wear on the inside at the end of the tire life, but it wasnt that bad. I wouldnt worry about it that much.
Run on Victoracers if you want, but one event on V710s and you will want nothing to do with the Victos...trust me

Camber will not affect wear as much as toe will. With an autocross alignment toe is the wear factor. We used to run the front toe out for events and had it marked so we can dial it back after the event. now we just buy used tires for the front so we dont care and rotate them more often

I have SSR GT7 wheels for my autocross tires. These are stock legal; same width as stock wheels, and almost the same offset. I have the 245/45-17 and 275/40-17 V710 combo that you asked about, with no rubbing.
I'm running -1.5 camber on the front, -2 on the rear.

I'm using the Kosei K1-TS front wheels, with an offset of 50mm. -1.6 to -1.7 camber. V710 245/45-17 tires. I'm definitely getting rubbing at the top of the fender lip. The little plastic buttons tend to disappear ($2 from Majestic Honda) and once they are gone the tire rubs holes in the fender liner. Once through that, the metal tab that the fender liner snaps onto rubs a groove in the tire. Grr.
This happened both with the stock shocks and the solid Gendron bar set to the 3rd softest setting, and with Penske shocks and the solid Gendron bar set to the stiffest setting. The rubbing occurs when braking in a high-lateral-g sweeper. It's worst on the driver's side in right hand turns.

So nobody has a problem getting these tires on stock rims. They seem too wide for stock rims.
And one last thing, I am going to get an alignment and I am pretty new to this stuff. Could anyone give me an idea what to tell the shop to get the right set up. I know that I want max front camber but what have you guys done in the back. I'm also pretty sure I don't want to mess with the toe, it's a daily driver. And what the heck is that other alignment setting for? Thanks for all your help.
