Default Stock roll bar allowed at Thunder Hill (CA)

Was looking to go on August 12 with some friends. The rule states that your helmet cannot touch from a pole (broomstick rule) placed on top of the windshield to the roll bar. Just looking to see if anybody had issues with the stock roll bar.

Most guys using stock seats will have a hard time passing the broomstick test. What organization are you going with?

I'm a tall guy too, 6'2'' so I doubt I will pass. Unless I put a real mean cholo lean...lol. It's from Northern California Racing Club. My buddy is the one telling me what to do. Basically, it's a few friends who love cars and are all rookies.

Hey Mac,

Where did you run in that pic? And how did they let you go if you didn't pass the broomstick test? I'm so excited. Seems like a ton of fun.

NCRC has a program where they help pay for your safety equipment through offering future discounts; I would look into that. As far as running on track without a roll bar, just because you can do something doesn't mean that you should ; ). Just think of the outcome if something like this were to happen to you.

Hooked on Driving allows stock S2000s in run groups A and B only. Very safe group to run with, they've got a track day at Thunderhill August 9 & 10 (I'll be there on the 9th). More expen$ve then most others, but well run days with lots of track time.

This was a NASA event at Buttonwillow which is why the top is down.

I don't think you'd have enough room for your knees, NCRC is strict about that rule.

You'd have to be an absolute track whore to make it worthwhile.
