Default Street tires for 17x10's ?

Looking at options for street tires for 17x10 wheels for the track - most of the favorites RS3, DZII etc only go up to 255.
I have some old DZII 255's mounted on 17x10's now and they are stretched

I see Toyo R1R has a 275/40/17 - anyone know if that size R1R is one that works better if shaved?

Also Kuhmo XS makes a 275/40/17 and even a 285/40/17 thats not a bad tire at all, 285/40 might be a bit tall though

Are there any other options out there? anyone know how wide is the 255 RS3 on a 10"?

Thought I've read on here that 255 on a 10 are faster than on a 9 anyway. RS3 have a softer sidewall than a Dunlop perhaps that will benefit more on a 10 than a 9

The NT05 isn't quite on par with the Z2 or RS3

Yes, it has been said that 255s are faster on a 10" rather than a 9", but don't misconstrue that to mean something wider (than 255) on a 10" isn't faster than a 255 on a 10".

I used the R1Rs in 275 on my 6ULR 10" rims. I felt like new, they were as good as my NT01s with several track days on them. I really liked them.
