Streets of Willow Track Event Video
Cannon- I will probably get a DVD burner that connects to my N.L.E. I will have to check out computer-based systems first, but I would like to keep the big video files out of my computer.
I like your video! Very much the look I am going for. Here's a link for those of you who haven't seen it:

Tedster- Your video from Seattle is a good example of what my footage looks like without the music. Sometimes other cars pass close to the camera, and drown out the sound of the car that I am filming. Other times, there is no audible sound from the car (like when it's windy) and you can hear people talking, or other stuff.
That is why the music track is turned up higher on my tape. For future projects, I have purchased 2 Sony ECM-Z37C mics for spotting, and 2 ECM-DS70P mics for remote mounting. This should help me get very good sound quality.
jzr- I agree with your idea about shooting from different locations. I wanted to, but at S.O.W. there's nowhere else to shoot from.
By the way, I like Snatch, too!
I can only do so much with my car. I need you guys to take my cameras for a ride!
Please let me know when you are going to the track, or doing anything interesting with your car ( track, autocross, canyon, donuts, drifting/sliding ,burnouts, e-braking, launches, equipment testing, skidpad, wet handling, special mods/paint/interior, etc.
I know that these things are often spontaneous. Two nights ago, I was the passenger in an S travelling well into the triple digits. Twice. And sustained for long enough to get my adrenaline going. But my camera was on the floor in front of me, and I didn't get it out.
I know my friend is a madman, so I should have been prepared!
I'll give you a copy of the footage, or the video that I make, so you can watch it when you are too old and feeble to drive the S, or when your S is crashed and gone (temporarily), like mine.

WOW! I finally got a chance to see the video just now. Thanks Pete, and great work! You definitely captured a lot of good stuff and did a great job putting it together
Suggestions....
1) Music was not as loud as the posting suggests. During the donut contests, when there was only one engine revving, you could definitely hear it. When the cars are all hotlapping, you can't really distinguish one engine from the other unless they are at the corner of the track where you are standing anyway. Good choice in music, too. I have some stuff for the future, if you're interested.
2) IN CAR FOOTAGE! I know we never got around to setting up the mount, but that is definitely what's missing. We'll work on front and rear towhook mounts, too. I like the idea of the wheelcam, where the camera is positioned low and just behind the front wheel, but I personally wouldn't want my $1k camera getting rocks and dust thrown at it. ...Oh, and of course the pedal cam.
3) P-Diddy style Fish eye lens? Gimmicky (and probably pretty expensive), but still pretty cool. Maybe the same effect can be done through the software package after the fact.
4) Make sure to get solo shots of everyone in there at some point. You did a good job with that as far as I could tell, but it's definitely important. (Thanks for the shot of me passing the vette!)
5) I'm being really critical here, but a couple of shots were a bit shaky. Is there a setting for the "anti-bounce" that you can play with? It was more notable during some of the donut contest shots.
6) Dashboard cam of Wendy as one of the drivers going over a series of bumps!
