SV-Handicapped-Challenge?
A while back I proposed on the original Speed Ventures S2000 Challenge thread a handicap system that seemed we could do along with the official SV Challenge and would be very competitive. It seems also that it would be easy to implement now that people are registering and updating their MOD points.
Basically, for any given track, we assign a handicap of 0.0xx seconds per MOD point. For example, for Cal Speedway infield, the handicap could be 0.020 sec per MOD point. So if Car-A has 100 points of MOD, it would have a 2.0 sec handicap, Car-B with 150 points would have 3.0 sec handicap, Car-C that is stock would have 0.0 sec handicap, added to their official time. This way, everyone gets a shot of fastest handicapped time of the day (FHTD !). Even the unlimited cars, e.g. one with 300 points would have a 6.0 sec handicap. so everyone can compete, Stock through Unlimited. And, most interestingly, we could agree to assign a handicap to non-S2000's like J.P.'s car, e.g., -100 points, so his handicap time would be -2.0 sec. A ZO6 on r-compounds might have a 300 point handicap, etc. etc. Non-S2000's would have to register and be assigned an official points handicap.
I really think this would make it exciting with a lot of smack talk since EVERYONE would be competitive, so, for instance, Sri could compete on a level field with me WITHOUT feeling he has to modifying his car further. We would award handicapped finishes at the end of the season also.
To make this work, a couple of designated (elected?) decisionmakers, e.g. Twohoos and I, would assign beforehand the track-handicap for the upcoming event (e.g. we assign 0.025 sec per MOD point for BW #13 CCW). After the times are posted by SV, John or I would post here the handicapped results.
What do ya think???
I say we do it.

Now you guys are making it complicated, but maybe more interesting
. It would be a shootout right to the end. But should we start simple without reward points?
Ry we would have to agree on assigned points for weight-stripping and for slicks. For the sake of discussion only, 75 points for Weight-stripping and 150 for Slicks? How many points total would that make you?
