Default Sway Bar Recommendations

Hi guys, as the title states, I am looking for a front sway bar for my S since I am running a 225/50r16 square setup and can benefit from less roll since I am on stock suspension. I was told that the gendron bar might be a little too stiff for my 225 setup, so I am looking at saner's (which I know is discontinued), whiteline's, and eibach's front sway bars. What do you guys think? Thanks

I run an eibach on stiff setting. I think its 412lb/ins and depending on how i have my rebound adjusted i can make my front end push hard. Anyway im on 255 square so in my opinion its relatively stiff. Nothing like a gendron but for a stock suspension it should be fantastic.

I disagree with 225's being too small to warrant a big FSB. IMO, it really depends if the grip levels are high enough where you get rear wheel lift. When I was running Hoosier A6's in stock class, I would get rear wheel lift like crazy, even with the Gendron Solid Bar.

Yeah didnt even think that this might be on a6s. Knowing what type of racing your doing and type of tires does make a huge difference.

Lol yeah, I'm definitely not running on hoosiers. Right now I'm on hankook ventus v12's and I autocross about once or twice a month, dd my S, and I've tracked it once so far and plan on going 2-3 times a year.
EDIT** I do plan on moving to a bigger wheel/tire setup in the future, but probably not anytime soon

I am not the most competitive guy in STR locally, but I run 235/245 with DDSS which is close to stagger with eibach front bar on full stiff and Eibach rear bar on full soft. Only other suspension mod is swift spec-R on OEM dampers. But, the setup seems to be working well. The car does have a slight tail waggle, but overall its well-balanced. My co-driver took 4th overall for raw times at the last event. The bars have not made any noises and were a breeze to install. Maybe, I am not pushing it enough, but anyone who has rode in it has thought it did pretty well.

So, if you are not super competitive and cannot afford the Gendron, Saner and Ankeny Racing - I would suggest the eibach front bar or whiteline 30mm front bar. I will tell you Eibach bars are on backorder right now and whiteline is in limited stock. We just sold a whiteline bar to a member yesterday!

Hope this helps!

My advice ... get a good FSB to start with. I went through multiple front bars before deciding on the Gendron 1.375" hollow bar. Had I done this first, I would have saved a bunch of money. Even though it's overkill when I moved to STR, I simply set it softer (2/6). The point here is I have a FSB that works in multiple setups by adjusting it. The Ankeny bar is also popular, though I didn't like the feel compared to the Gendron.

Sirbunz, what bars did you own before the gendron? Also Is small fortune racing the only place to buy the gendron hollow bar?

There is plenty on info on s2ki about sway bars, but here are a couple of my posts from other threads...

I agree with Marc - If your long term plan is to get racing competitively in STR or HPDE etc, then buy right the 1st time. Save yourself money in the long run - I know this by experience
