Default T2 Race Report (short version)

Finished car:

http://img67.echo.cx/my.php?image=s2k00029pc.jpg

Finishing order:
Buttermore (CTS-V) 1:29.7
Moore (Camaro) 1:29.3 - just a few tenths off the lap record
Lucas (S2000) 1:30.3
Henderson (350Z) 1:30.0 - started last after missing qualifying for a transmission replacement
Swan (S2000) 1:31.3
Brzustowicz (SRT-4) 1:32.6 -
William (Boxster S) 1:35.6 -Freddy Baker's old car, Grattan rookie

Friday's test day was 1/2 rain but it was a good chance to get used to the wider 17" wheels and practice countersteering. Did manage to get a couple dry sessions in to start adjusting the 2812s. Many thanks to Jason for the damper tips.

Saturday:
wet but drying track for practice. (ran at full soft)
sunny qualifying - qualified second due to the CTS-V having a problem.

Sunday:
Cold and overcast. Fun race, not a bad start considering the available torque. Swaped back and forth with Tony a few times (he's in a '04 car); then hounded the Camaro for about 5 laps before he checked out; classis motor vs handling, catching him in the infield before he pulls away on the straights. Need a clutch plate type diff.

Should have some race photos soon.

Hell of a finish Jeremy. You probably had the least power of any of the contenders mentioned. To even be close to the 400+ hp monsters in the class is outstanding.

Thanks Shawn, that was definately the case. Even when I was tucked up under Tony he was able to pull a couple of lengths on the straight (2004 vs 2002).
Still have more work to do on shock and tire pressures.

Great job, Jeremy, against higher horsepowered cars! Any e46M3s there?
Some in-car vids would be great if you don't mind?

Nice job

Where were all of the Evo's??? They were setting new records at the Summit Point T2 race a few weeks ago.

Nice times... 1:30.3 is exactly 2 seconds quicker than what I could do with the stock s2k on r-comps. Grattan definitely rewards a car with great suspension, so I'm not *that* surprised that S2k hung with higher hp cars. Might be a bit harder to stay as competitive on some of the other tracks. But it doesn't hurt to try.

Thanks guys. If I had video's I'd post em but I don't. No room for a camcorder that won't block rear vision, but might have to get a lipstick camera because that would have been some good video.

As you can imagine if there had been EVOs & E46M3s my position probably would have been lower but I'll take it when I can get it.

For those of you not familiar with T2 rules, it's all stock except: hardtop required, soft top removal required, SS brake lines, dampers - Koni 2812s (no springs), ECU (but mine is stock), Kumho Victo V700s 225/255, Cobalt Spec VRs. That's pretty much all that's allowed.

can't you do a catback? or testpipe off the header then catback?

will be neat to see a big race with some Evo's and E46's to see how all shakes out.

Sorry, forgot to mention that catback is legal too, just don't have it yet.

MidO in 3 weeks should be a bigger group.
