Tanabe Swaybar feedback
Has anyone here tried them? I was thinkning of getting them since they save some weight due to being CrMo. My other choice is Comptech but I can't seem to get a hold of them. My car is mostly a street car for what it's worth.
Any input would be great.
Thanks

For what it's worth, Comptech has closed shop. Buying anything Comptech brand new (incl. sway bars, which they did not make a lot of) will be extremely difficult, though you might want to PM Invision or Ricks to find out for sure. Your best bet is going w/ a used Comptech sway bar if you're after maximum performance and you really want to track the car.
That being said, I do not know anything about the Tanabe Swaybars; although Tanabe makes very good quality parts and has impressed me with everything I've seen, I would *guess* the Comptech bar would work much better. Then again, the Tanabe bars are a ton cheaper so maybe just try it out, if it doesn't work you can always sell it.

Comptech front sway bar would be best for autocross purposes, but I think it would be too stiff for track racing. If the car is mostly a street car, I wouldnt spend the $1000 for a bar that really only gets you a huge advantage in autocross.
From all I've read, Tanabe seems to be a great bar. I'm also looking into getting the Cusco front sway bar. Its a bit thicker than the Tanabe yet still only 1/4 the price of the Competch adjustable.
Now, if you're talking about rear sway bars, thats an area I have yet to research as I race in stock class autocross.

Thanks guys. I forgot to clarify. I know CT made a F/R "street" set and that is what I was referring to. Granted the adj one would be great and more for bling because I wouldn't be using it for what it was intended for.
Would you guys consider the weight savings a plus for the TANABE?? I've felt the whitelines and holymoly it's heavy! If I can't get a CT one then I may have to "test" out the Tanabe.
I do intend to AutoX and maybe a few private events in my car (1 or 2 in a year) but other than that it's a street car.
Thanks again guys

hey andy, i have the tanabe swaybar and i liked it when my suspension was stock..... car was stable and snap oversteer went away. i recently took it off and put the stock bar back since i now have 12kg spring up front.
now it's sitting in the garage, thinking of selling it.
