Default Ti Retainers

Anybody local to the bay area familiar with changing the retainers with the head on the car?

Anybody want to help?

should be a pretty strait foreward install, i dont know if theres a diy but i did mine with a friend with no issues. BTW for mine after 5k miles at 5.7max psi and 4k miles at 11psi max i had no broked retainers on my s when i went to change them out. Let us know if any of them were broken,

I posted pictures of the process in the technical forum.

I live in the bay area but I don't want to do them again not that fun. They're not hard just a lot of time bent over the fender messing with keepers

You can borrow my spring tool from me this weekend at sears if you don't have one.

Me neither. You won't get a lot of takers, I think. Damn job gave me tendonitis.

It would be good to have three or four hands for the job, but they have to be used to working together and not getting in each other's way.

i did it with a spring tool i got from autozone and a pair of needle nose pliers...
the last one was really fast to do.....oh god i never want to do that again...but i usd just a regular spring compresor...
nuthin like springs shooting bits all over the place...

All done. Wasn't too bad. Well except for dropping a retainer clip down the oil return to the pan. Off came the pan. Good excuse to get a baffled pan.

I almost warned you about that. I did the same thing, but mine went down into the timing chain. I managed to get it back out with a magnet on a stick.

I felt like an utter dufus for not taking the time to mask off all those openings. At least now I know there's a club of utter dufuses I can join....
