Ti valve spring retainers
OK, so I figure some people have now developed a pretty good service history with Ti retainers for the S2000. How have they held up? Any particular manufacturers to look for or to avoid?
We know the failure mode for the OEM retainers is that the inlet side ones crack on the bottom of the retainer and the valve drops into the cylinder. So what's the failure mode for Ti retainers? What do we look for in an inspection?

Perhaps a question for the force fed guys.
Some info is better than none, though. Maybe I'll ask there too.

I have 10K miles on Titanium retainers.
I was originally told the service interval was 20-30K miles based on the use/abuse. More recently I have been told the interval is 10-15K miles by the same retailer I originally purchased from. Perhaps he is just practicing "CYA" but it make me nervous. I am changing over to the new Titanium retainers from Supertech as soon as I have a chance.
The OEM retainers have a heat treating on them. They crack on the underside from inside out. There has been discussion that the AP2 retainers are superior to the AP1s.
The most common failure mode you see with Titanium retainers is galling.

But are the AP2 retainers suitable for installation in an F20C?

I have a set of barely used AP1 retainers I'll sell you
I'm kind of nervous about the set in my car right now. I guess I'd rather replace them if they don't need it than to not replace them if they do.

Everything will be replaced before its service life for longevity and reliability.
The street car still has the retainers it came with...
