I am looking for some advice. I will be purchasing some tire's strictly for autocross/Driver's ED events. The tires will be on the car only to drive to/from the event and for the actual event. Here are my selections.

Yoko A032R
Price for a set of 4 $657.98

Kuhmos V700
Price for a set of 4 $561.78

Hoosiers A3S03
Price for a set of 4 $744.30

Toyo R1's
Price for a set of 4 $688.00

The Hoosiers a bit out of my price range, but they will be considered.

Out of the 3, I'd go for the A032's. I had a pair for the track and they performed well. The Hoosiers may be stickier, but they won't last long, especially if you're going to be autocrossing on concrete parking lots. I've heard good things about the Kumho's, but have never tried a set.
Personally, I like Toyo RA-1's. They're are like the Yok's, but I like the response of the Toyo's better. I feel like I could push them harder. I've found that the big treads A032's "clump" and start to scallop when pushed really hard.

Where can you get the Toyo RA-1's from online wholesale? and how much?

I'm not sure if you can buy them online, and only authorized Toyo dealers carry them. Try Toyo.com and see if they have a list of dealers.

I do have fine scalloping on the A032Rs after track session at Streets of Willow. No chunking that I can appreciate. I don't know whether the scalloping will affect next track session performance; the tires did fine throughout the last track session.

Dale, the Hoosiers are not suited for any street use so unless you get a trailer forget them. I have had both the Yoko's and the Kumhos, and there is no comparison.. the Kumhos are much better on the track.. with the Yokos only better in standing water.

Your statements have convinced me to try the Kumhos next, though 225s up front with the Spoon offsets might be something to take into consideration; they don't come in 205s, I think.

I'm pretty sold on the Toyo's. I used it for SCCA ITA and NASA PCTCC classes on my Integra, and though the Hoosiers were 1/2 second faster, I only used one set for the whole season. Hoosier guys used 3 sets.
