Tire Pressures for AutoX
I am going to a AutoX this weekend. First time in a S2000 (2003) Stock Tire/wheels. Any suggestions on a close course tire pressure settings? The track will be set up for Porsche's.
I use a pyrometer to figure out my baseline, then adjust from there. What I was ending up with on moderately grippy asphault was about 38 front, 37 rear (hot). Try starting there and adjust to suit. If you're understeering, try lowering pressure in the front. If oversteering, try lowering pressure in the rear.
I go as low as 33 hot, and don't seem to get any problems with the sidewalls rolling over.

38 front 34 rear (hot) was where I ended up on MY2000 for stock tire/wheeel. (And it still pushed on smooth corners, though you could get the rear around using trailing throttle oversteer) That was with more camber than stock, which is worth doing. Preferred settings for stock springs and stock or "normal" aftermarket shocks seem to be around -1.5 front, -2.5 rear.
You can might search for threads on camber, but they can be confusing since it will depend on other modifications. Lower, stiffer cars, or those with trick ax shocks to control roll may like a little less.
