Default Tire Rub

So there is a metal protrusion that sticks out about 2" from the inner sheet metal wall at the top of the front fender well. I seem to be rubbing there pretty bad, and it's keeping me from lowering the car.

Has anyone else with the huge rubber found this?

My thought is to cut it out and tig weld in a piece for strength. I'm only rubbing on the outside edge of the thing.

Thoughts?

I recall SfphinkterMC cutting something out there to fit his wheels. PM him.

I and others have just taken a hammer to it and bent it upwards somewhat. That and rolled the fenders.

I have 18 x 9.5' rims, but then again I have the proper offset too (73). Most of the people I've seen with probs try to get by with too little offset.

My car is lowered at least an inch and I am running 11+" wide rear tires.

Its not a question of proper offset. Bill's rubbing top and center, thats a problem w/ tire height spring rate mostly.

Bill, Tony heated mine up w/ a torch and beat the shit out of it w/ a hammer to get me more clearance.

When you showing up btw? Thurs day/night or Fri am? I'll be there for the half testday on thurs.

Not without joining I can't, but I can send you pics directly.

If you are hitting top and center and not on the protruding fender attachement place then he's right, it's not offset and it's not easy to correct, other than raising your car ride height.
