i use the OEM hooks as well. was considering going to straps. do they end up scuffing/scratching the bumper as they flap around in the wind?

I use OEM for the rear and a thicker steel version of the spoon hook in the front. I agree the $25 ebay hooks are NOT great. There is a video of one breaking as the tow truck was trying to load an s2000. My dad also had eBay hooks on his s2000 and one literally fell apart while he was on track..... if you need it you will be glad you didn't go cheap.

Science of Speed for my TT car. My racecar came with cheap aluminum ones...... I snapped an axle hopping curbs, the car got loaded up on a tow truck, they didn't pull up the e-brake, we started to drive away and the tow hook sheared from the side load of the cable, and it rolled off the truck. Shitty time. It was something that I haven't ever had to worry about before, but now I know better.

I had a $125 Challenge Racing one (didnt pay new for it) on the front and it sheared when getting towed at a slight angle. Went to the SoS one and havent had to use it yet... It bolts right to the bumper beam so if that fails, you have other things to worry about.

I got to admit, I don’t love this

It’s fine but loaded looks terrible, I could see it breaking. I’m going to keep messing with it

Get ya a Doryoku front and/or rear bumper bar with tow hooks integrated into them. Problem solved.
