I was watching the Nascar race.... just wondering what a prepared S does around there... that is if you guys even run the same configuration that they do. Obviously they have a "slight" horsepower and tire advantage...
2:00 flat with a stock AP1 on S02s. Low 1:50s on RA-1s and Ohlins. I watched a bit of it but didn't see lap times. This pic is davepk driving my car at sears, turn 3 at the top of the hill
NASCAR runs a modified course so you can't really compare times. They skip the whole inside section and go around the outside. Instead of taking turn 4-5 and 6 (the carousel) they bypass to turn 7. They would never get those cars through the inside. ALMS P1 qualifying times the last time they were there was 1:23-1:24.
You can see the bypass in light grey on this map from turn 4 to 7
My race car does high 40s low 50s. Tho I was in the rain (off and on last time). I'll be there this coming weekend tho for the SCCA race.
a street car on ra1s does mid to upper 50s on RA1s.
Dave's :54s were on basicly a race car w/ street tires. Still flying.
As erik said, the nascar tools run the short (bus) course. But Speed world challenge was there this weekend, a GT car was running times close to the nascar guys the touring car guys were a few seconds slower. running the full course my race car would be in the top half of the grid. (not that its legal for Speed TC)
