[QUOTE=ZDan,Jun 8 2007, 08:22 AM] Understand that longer stroke = greater loads.

Just interested to hear if there are any real-world "life" issues on tracked 2.0s that are consistently taken to 9k. If so, I'll limit myself to 8500 except for timed laps.
JFO has been running his FC20 for about 2 1/2 years in the NASA Honda Challange H1 and hasn't had any engine problems so far. :cross fingers:

yeah for what its worth the 2.0 at 9k rpms lasts forever. I got about 3 years with my last 2.0L and really only ran into problems 8 months after running 9300.

I've got probably about 8000 track miles on my S2000, all with the same F20 engine that I take up close to the redline several times per lap.

I've never dynoed it, but it doesn't appear to be significantly down on power.

[QUOTE=krazik,Jun 8 2007, 09:25 AM]Scot knows what he wants, he wants the truth from racers, not someone who spends less than 60 seconds a day above 8k.

amen! I am going to use the stock ap2 ecu and attempt to bump it up to 8400rpm but if not so be it..... I will not take the risk at 9000 every 6-7 seconds for 30 minutes straight....

Does an AP1 ECU make more power than an AP2 one tho? You could put in a shift like and not rev the engine past 8.4-8.5k.

my problem is that at certain times i hold the car in gear at the rev limiter instead of shifting up for 2 seconds, then braking and downshifting..... so If i did that every lap 1 time lets just say...that would be 9k for 2 seconds every 90 seconds....

I would certainly try my best to shift when the light came on but......... ???

not sure if I can make myself....maybe greddy emanage ultimate can lower my rev limiter and i can use the ap1 ecu? I am unsure...
