Default Tube frame s2000

Has anyone designed a tube frame s2000 with all of the OEM mounting points for body panels?

Not just a front end tube frame s2k.

I know this might sound like a stupid idea, but no idea is stupid IMO. The cost migh tbe though.

I might have a new project... well at least something to look into.

finally.. i knew i had the pictures somewhere

there was a documentary video on how lamborghini designed their supergt race car. they were first studying the material of metal they were using and how they collapse (like layers). and then of course they use the 3d imaging on the computer. they also had a giant machine that had a needle sized point that measured all the distances and gaps and width and more. I don't know where that video is. I saw it on the internet so I'm sure it's still floating around somewhere.

The most rewarding projects are almost never easy. Compared to other tubular frames, that one looks fairly simple and straightforward. Take your time, use precise measurements and replace one section of unibody at a time. Use bracing to keep the original shape. Only a few specialty tools are needed... MIG welder to tack the frame together in the mock up stage, TIG welder for final welding of the tubes, tubing bender, tubing notcher, grinders, plasma cutter/acetylene torch to make gussets, frame jig (homemade, simple), angle measuring tools, plump bob... and most importantly, a basic knowledge of frame and suspension geometry. Some might tell you that you need to be a master fabricator, but I disagree. You can do anything if you have a basic knowledge, the proper tools, and you take your time. Read books and study up on it. All of the best fabricators had to start somewhere.

I think it's a great idea.
