Default Tyre puncture

Driving to work today I hear a ticking noise so I pull over and discover I have a screw in my tyre. Great! -__-
New RS3 that have probably done about 500km. Ughhh

I have a trackday in two weeks and Ceebs trying to organise a new tyre before then (I'm in Australia so trying to organise a new RS3 is actually hard in this short period of time)

If I plug it and patch it inside the tyre this should be fine right?
Some people say never to use plugged tyres at track. Others say it'll be fine. Just looking for some first hand experiences to calm myself as I feel ill just be thinking about it constantly

I've tracked on both. A patch is much better and safer. If its in the middle patch it and it will be no issue.

I'd not use one of the rope plugs on the track. The interior patches with the tit that fills the hole is probably fine. Has been on my road car for a year. No loss of tire pressure over several monts.

Go to a good shop. Have them remove the tire and then install a plug/patch properly. As long as the puncture isn't on the far outside tread block, then I would run it till it cords with no fear.

Taking it to a shop and getting one of those mushroom patches was the plan. The screw is just off centre and in the groove of the tyre so it should be okay.
Thanks for the replies

Took the car to the tyre shop today to get the tyre patched and upon taking the wheel off the rim we found the the screw was short and had gone in at an angle and hadn't punctured through so the screw was removed and the tyre is all good. Been checking tyre pressure today while parked at work and hasn't lost any air so I think we're all good
