Default UK Alignment Specs,----Affect On Tire Life.

Did some searching, really didn't find what I'm looking for. Interested to hear from those who went from OE alignment specs to UK specs, with no change to tire size or brand, street use only. What change did you see in tire life? Thanx.

I might recommend asking this in the racing forum. Many of the autocrossers have this set up.

Few in the racing forum put wear over handling.. IMO the UK recommended alignment feels so much better than the stock setup that I ignore any difference in wear. I would guess that the additional camber would slightly accelerate tire wear but not to a huge extent.. the big factor in tire wear is driving habits.

As I stated, the car is used on the street only, so that's why I posted here, rather than on the racing forum. As to tire wear being most influenced by driving habits, I get what you're saying. That's why I asked the question in the form of an A B comparison. I'm hoping for replies from owners who went from OE specs to UK specs with no other changes that could affect tire wear. It sounds like cdelena has run his car both ways, but unfortunately hasn't kept track of the difference in wear.

I don't have any specific notes, but I have been using the UK alignment for about one year now. I got almost 15K on my rear tires, I am getting ready to change them. My fronts were changed after about 23K miles, half on original alignmnet, half on UK alignment.

I have about 8K on new fronts, look pretty good. All normal driving (occasional spirited driving) except monthly aggressive club drives....

I love the UK specs!
