Default Upgrading the oil pan.

Hi,

Here is what I will do with the car. Occasional fun run at a local airport strip when open. Occasional Drag and autocross but nothing too heavy. Maybe ten or so events per year. Is the upgrade for the oil pan necessary or is this for long term track days and races?

Thanks
Chris

While it can be helpful at any time you're loading up the suspension in turns, it's most helpful for sustained high g periods. Something you might see on a track with slicks or r compounds.

You didn't mention what tires you run, what speeds and how long typical turns are etc. It can't hurt, but it might not be necessary in your situation.

Not needed, but why not for peace of mind.

After losing an engine earlier this year due to oil slosh and being 1/2 qt low, I'd say a $400 oil pan is cheap insurance.

A little more responses from those that track their cars and what you are running would be great.

I thought the problem with oil starvation in high-speed banked corners was due to the oil not coming down from the head more than it is due to oil in the sump not being picked up.
