Voltex type III placement
I recently bought a voltex type III wing that came with a silverstone trunk. My cars nfr and I just got a replacement trunk to drill. The silverstone one didn't have a spoiler and this nfr one came with the oem spoiler but not drilled. Would it be okay to mount the wing right behind the spoiler or will it be to far forward? I don't mind removing it but would like to leave it if possible or use my tamon spoiler.
Silverstone trunk that te wing came with

New Nfr one (slid off as I took the picture, lines up just fine)

Edit: the difference in placement is at most half an inch. At most.
The wing works fine mounted that far forward. If you look at where most of the japanese track cars run there mounts its intact close to that position. Yes if you want the full 100% out of the wing the further back the better. But to answer your question, yes it will work and work well. Also it gives you more levels of adjustment (flatter) then mounting it further back down the truck where the edge rounds off and it adds angle of attack.

Wing will work better further back, but will work fine using that mounting position.

Isn't the placement determined by the particular wing size and type? The mounting position on the wing is fixed isn't it (other than angle adjustment) so with the wing assembled it should be pretty obvious where the ideal mounting location is right? You obviously down't want the mounts too far from the edge of the trunk sides or hanging over the trunk sides.
I doubt the trunk spoiler would do much to hurt the airflow underneath the rear wing since the spoiler is pretty small. But tiny changes in aero can have a pretty large effect it seems. Something like the ASM duckbill is more ideal I would think. I have never seen an S2000 with a Voltex wing and the OEM spoiler. I am guessing it looks a bit odd unless the wing has very large stands.
