Watching the Tach
It is hard to tell from the audio, but it looks like you're braking and initiating the downshift in one motion. From what I can see, I would give it another split second on the brakes before downshifting - hopefully initial brake application will be sharper (potentially later), braking will be more consistent down to the corner, and the car will be more stable on entry.
Lowering VTEC is not done in a vacuum -- it requires tuning -- and some alteration to the exhaust system to get to the 3600rpm range. It would be great if all that was required was connecting FlashPro and typing 3600 in the VTEC block.

I also have a '59 MGA - a four speed car that is impossible to heal and toe. That "defect" makes it a lot less complicated. With just one downshift, and having to first release the brake pedal, I usually down shift after braking and just before the apex. It only gets a bit dicey for me at Thompson's second hair pin corner, where I might want to pick up 2nd. But if I miss shift going into 2nd on that car, no danger of over revving because I'm shifting accidentally into 4th.
I do appreciate the comments from everybody.
