Default Weird Braking

I already spoke to jaku about this, but i'm still not sure what it is.

under hard braking, the car wants to rotate to the right. and i mean HARD braking.

at thunderhill i noticed this, it was like i had to countersteer while braking and it happened again when i had to brake hard traveling 100 on the 5 freeway. I almost went off the right side of the road!

i already checked tire pressures and damper settings and everything is the same all around. I had an alignment done right before thunderhill as well, but i can't say if that's it because i havent been on the brakes hard since maybe two months ago lol

anyone have any ideas?

Check your fluid level and pads.

Is the steering wheel being pulled or does it feel like the rear end want to swing around? Does the rear feel like its moving in a circular motion? What about ABS engagement....any problems.....Does it get worse?

How many miles are on your dampers?

If everything is ok with the braking system, the problem could be caused from a dead damper. It would feel like the rear end is moving in a circular motion with uncontrolled dampening.

It could also be your pad compound....Maybe the front pads are beginning to fade (or are glazed) and the car is now getting more rear bias than your use to.

Let us know what you come up with....

Some great suggestions.
Also be sure the brakes/pads aren't binding, your bushings are in good working order, and sway bar isn't preloaded.

are you sure your alignment is good? and they tightened everything? I'd have it checked again.

fluid is good for sure. front pads are down to maybe 3 mm. the steering wheel is not pulled, the car just wants to rotate on the... z axis LOL i've got maybe 20k miles on my pss9's.

rob, if you're talking about pads fading in the way i think you are, i'm not really driving too hard when this happens. like i said, i was cruising at 100 and had to brake hard once. and at thunderhill, it was really wet out, so i couldnt push it that hard anyways. when the abs kicks in it gets a little more rediculous, but i'm not sure if maybe because it was wet at thunderhill.

krazik, i am going to get more aggressive pads anyways, so after i put them in if that doesnt fix it i'll probably get it realigned.

Check your right upper A-Arm mount points.

Make sure they aren't getting ready to detach.

Look for cracks appearing in the undercoat around the mounting brackets.

I had this same problem last month and it turned out to be the caliper sticking. After a caliper rebuild everything works great.
