What 17x10s to get? Or 17.9.5?

What size/offset/brake kits do the 949s clear? Also how much do they weigh? Seems like that and the Forgestars are really the only "affordable" ones. The Forgestars offer a bunch of brake clearance which is kinda neat.

949s 17x10 +52 clear the StopTech ST40. Those are the only 10's that they're making.

The 17x9s come in +48 (clears ST40), and +55 (no clue on clearance here).

I'd lump the 949s in the affordable category.

No clue on weight... I don't pay attention to that for cast wheels. If they're too light, then they're likely not durable... I'll take durability over weight. And i'll take price over weight as well, hence, heavy cast wheels are ok with me.

Light, cheap, durable - pick two...

I think it's a wash. I have the 17x10 CE28N and the 17x9.5 ZE40. Wide tires like the NT01 would probably benefit more with the 17x10, while street tires would be fine on the 17x9.5.

Section width is the key. For example a 255/40/17 RS3v2 is 10.2" while a Hoosier A7 245/40/17 is 10.3". Those both benefit with a 10" width.

I think the answer lies in your tire selection. Fit the width that best matches the tire size you intend to run. With that said, 949 wheels are used on many track cars and I would say are considered on par with Enkeis, or a step above Rotas.

Well I decided to get the 6UL.

The Forgestar looks good, but I'm thinking the 6UL might be a bit more durable. Plus the 6UL is less of a wait time and I was going to get the +52 offset anyway

Post some pics when you get them mounted. I plan on getting these as well.

Bigger differences are noted between 17x9 and 17x10. Hoosier A7 is a psuedo 10.3".
