Interesting. It may say GL-6 in my US manual, but if it does I probably forgot about it since GL-5 is common but GL-6 is not.

GL-6 is not only "uncommon", it does not even exist.
I originally guessed that the AGMA EP ratings were equivalent to the API GL ratings, but that isn't correct. Both ratings are supposed to indicate the amount of Extended Pressure additive in the oil, but the AGMA EP scale goes beyond 7 and the API GL ratings only go up to 6.
The US S2000 shop manual does say API GL5 or GL6.

Read this API paper, page 10 at bottom, paragraph 4.3
The S2000 diff only holds 800ml of oil and the pinion sits rather low, meaning its a high offset ring&pinion setup.

Use what you feel good about, but don't ignore the facts.

According to the API paper, the GL-6 standard was not in use 13 years ago, and that test equipment for the GL-6 standard was rare. It seems quite likely that some products rated GL-5 would pass the GL-6 standard if they were tested.
Doug, this is what I use:

It is available locally at Hollink or possibly Cycle Stop near you. It meets Honda's requirements for the S.

4.3 API GL-6
The designation API GL-6 denotes lubricants intended for
gears designed with a very high pinion offset. Such designs
typically require protection from gear scoring in excess of
that provided by API GL-5 gear oils. A shift to more modest
pinion offsets and the obsolescence of original API GL-6 test
equipment and procedures have greatly reduced the commercial
use of API GL-6 gear lubricants.

So now comes the debate of does it exist and where can I find it...
