What's going to suck less
Have a HPDE tomorrow. Saturday. In Joliet, IL. Weather forecast
So do I go on my S02's or my my winter tires (Blizzaks LM22's I think). The winter tire rears are 225's (not the recommended 245's). I know the S02's suck in the rain, but I'm sure winter tires suck on the track. What will suck less?
Thanks.

Take the S02s. And slow down when conditions warrant (ie. ANY standing water). I know from painful experience that what will suck most is if you end up having to call someone to get a ride home.
I did a track day in the rain on S02s a few months ago. I spun quite a bit at first, but it turned out to be an excellent learning experience. The trick is to be very smooth with both acceleration and braking. You'll find that getting good at this will improve your dry track times considerably.
I'll be at that event (I was there today as well). Definitely bring the S02 over the winter tires even if it does rain. You'd destroy the snow tires on the track and the S02s are fine in the rain. I'll be there with my R-compounds, so let's both hope it doesn't rain! (My rule is: greater than 60% chance of rain = bring street tires. It's worked well so far.)
