Default Who's tracking a stroker

Looking for experience from those with experience tracking an f20 stroker... 2.4, 2.5, whatever.

It's hard for me to believe they can handle the sustained revs of track use.

If you have tracked a stroker, how high did you rev it?

(Edited for spelling.)

Well, not really a stroker...an AP2 block with AP1 ecu enabling me to rev to 9000rpm. But lot's of guys have done that without issues.

How many track days/street miles do you have on the ap2 bottom end with the 9k rev limit?

Not much yet. About 7000 total miles. About 250 track. Driven hard on the street. Quite often to redline. What I like most is it doesn't burn a drop of oil. Nothing. Broke it in perfect.

Mid-A Skip tracked a stroked 2.2L (2.4L ?) for a while until it blew up but we've both blown engines since then.

What was the post mortem on the stroker? Details? Who built it? Why are you guys popping so many motors?!

I believe Skip's last engine was a spun rod bearing--same as my last motor. I don't know why the stroker went. My first (AP1) engine was lost to a couple of missed downshifts and dropped valves. We both run oil pan baffles but I did not have an oil cooler and neither of us had an Accusump. Neither of us know why we spun the rod bearings which are normally caused by oil starvation of some sort.

Thats interesting that you talk about oil cooler, some people say the stock one is fine. Do you make your own custom kit?

Ive read this article http://www.motoiq.com/magazine_artic...l-cooling.aspx and it seems as they made a custom one
I think it would be beneficial to have an upgraded oil cooler just wondering if you guys are doing all custom kits since there aren't many companies that make them.

The best way to determine if you need an oil cooler is to monitor your oil temps. I just upgraded the radiator to keep coolant temps down which will help to control oil temps to a point. If things are still getting crazy, I might get an aftermarket oil cooler in there somewhere.
