have you seen that in our cars? I've seen the piston push all the way thru the backing plate, but never a bent caliper.

Not that I know for a fact. I've heard some apocryphal stories.

But it is the limiting factor. Either that or the integrity of the hydraulic system.

you use abs all the time in the s2k if you're hard on the brakes. like I said, pull the fuse and see how easy we lock up w/o it.

you should try going into the corkscrew at speed and not realizing you don't have abs *pucker*

Now let me ask this. Is it possible to save weight if you still go with the stock caliper (like aluminum rotors, lightweight pads, etc)?

Aluminum rotors would be terrible! There is a reason why cast iron is generally the material of choice.
