Default xSP classification for s2k

Currently we get classified into CSP because we are <2000 CC.

Has scca officially listed the S2K in any of the xSP classes?

ralph elder and mitch fagundes ran in ASP at the NorCal Divisionals in Sacramento this year in mitch's 2000 S2000 due some minor difference in their shock set up..it was interesting..can it run with mark huffman's 66 Lotus..doubtful, unless it's a high HP course..or against curt ormiston/dan spalding's Ferrari 360 Modena..uh, no..or gary thomason's C5..doubtful, esp. now that gary has it working well..i would like to see a fully set up S2000 in ASP..that would be one intense car i'd imagine.

Funny you should ask that.

At the Wendover, UT Prosolo, Jason ran against Curt in the Open Challenge. Curt had a .5 sec faster dial-in time, so Jason got a .5 sec head start down the front straight.

By the end of the straight, Curt had caught him and then they ran dead even for the next 25 sec. Curt beat him by <.100 sec. Admittedly, this was a Prosolo course with a lot of transitions/slaloms and almost always in VTEC, so it what the S2K is best at.

But that was in a AS Stook. With the right springs/swaybars/wheels/etc I think it would be an interesting matchup. It would probably be course dependent, with lots of transitions going to the S2K and heavy acceleration courses going to the 360.

IMHO, of course

good points brad..i do recall seeing this match-up..talking to gary thomason (next season his 99 C5 will be in ASP), the only car he is really worried about is mark huffman's 66 Lotus..obviously, he isn't happy about his car being re-classed to ASP, but feels his car run with the 360 and other high HP cars, but the Lotus is the killer, particularly in tight pro-solo courses..
one fond memory of the pro solo finale was on my last run (a re-run) in which i lined up against you..i was on the right and you were on the left..first, i was ecstatic having to line up against the Mistress, even though we are in different classes..i always like lining up against faster cars as it impels me to drive harder..we both launched and instead of watching the course i was actually watching you going down the straight..1st gear, even launch, then when you hit VTEC, i could see you squirt wayy ahead of me, and i recall being in awe..i could tell at what RPMs you were at just by the sound of the engine..so when i realized i was also driving i must have hit the first cone at the end of the straight (i didn't even see it), but then i ran the best time of the weekend, a 29.5xx..it was the fastest time for BS, but one cone..that was pretty fun..

Really? I would have thought it was at least partly because of the big ass cone intake Mitch has in place of the stock airbox. Unless that's something that's been added since the Divisionals...
