00 S2000 VS year unknown boxster S
I'm kinda disappointed in you guys...yeh its a porsche...but its slow as hell. I have an S2000 and ive driven a Boxster S before. The Boxster runs out of breath in the high rpms, its no contest. Not to mention that the S2000 handles better too. If you've ever seen both cars on a road course, youll know what i mean. -Chris
Regarding the Porsches are gay comment, you do realize that when my wife drives my 996 turbo she will run laps around our S2000's and in effect you/we will be beaten by a girl...
I personally do not think Porsche is gay in general... I'm just not a fan of the boxter... you can't tell if it's coming or going... the design is not my cup of tea...
but I'm glad that your wife can lap S's with a 996T ...takes an amazing driver to pull that off!

Nice kill.
A bit OT: I heard from a Porsche owner that they changed the design on the '05 911's so that "they won't be mistaken for a boxter anymore." I know the new Porsches had a makeover, but is this a part of the reason? If I were a 911/996 owner, I'd definately be pissed if anyone mistook mine for a Boxter!

To me, Boxster < S2000 < Boxster S.
At our local Autocrosses the Boxster S tend to beat out the S2000's on most courses. (in stock classes)
I don't understand why people hate on the Boxster so much. I kind of like the idea of the Boxster more then the 911, wouldn't take one over a 911 but I like the fact that the motor is in the middle not on the rear (911). I've also seen some really sweet looking ones. No they aren't straight line beast, but neither is the S2000. The only thing I don't like about the boxster is that you see them a lot.
Oh BTW Nice kill, you make me proud.

Well of course the Boxster S "runs out of breathe at high RPM's" as the motor is designed to make more power down low. Saying that there is "no contest" is ... for lack of a better word, stupid. It is likewise stupid and wrong to say the S2000 handles better and is faster on a road course.

Yes, it is designed to make more power down low...but this doesn't make up for the lack of power, PERIOD. The Boxster S simply doesn't accelerate as hard. Coming from someone who's driven the car (me), i'd tend to trust myself on this one. p.s. - i'm sure everyone has seen the infamous video of the M3, S2000, 350Z, Boxster, and the teaser Skyline on the road course. By the end of the race, the S2000 finishes first (Skyline was the camera car), with the Boxster in last, yes in last, behind the 350Z. In straightline performance, ill say its a driver's race because some people dont know how to drive a car with "not that much" torque (S2000), hence why people are losing to 1.8t's of any sort... I've never owned another car manufacturer vehicle besides Honda. With me driving, the S2000 edges out the Boxster, im not saying "no comparison" or anything, but i still believe with equal drivers the S2000 will win. done deal. -Chris

J/K! But a souped up Boxster S looks very nice.
