00' VS. 04' Scrumchous!
Finally proof to solve the whos faster: 00' or 04' S!!
So im out cruisn' at night out here in the N.VA area after gettting waxed by a Peter Farrel Turbo IS 300 on what smelled like race gas....I start crusin home in shame and what pulls up beside me at a light? the brightest set of HID's i have ever seen and an 04' Silverstone. Of course its on now! SO we both take off with shitty launches and we are absolutely dead even until about 80 and Yeah buddy I pull about a few chin hairs past him as he cuts off at about 98 but of course I use my Flashers to let him know whos boss
Overall I was impressed with my car becuase I had my now fat Ex. Girlfriend in the seat with only a COmptech CAI. SO i figure I could have a pulled a bit more on him, But other than that has anyone noticed how much better the 04's Exhaust sounds!? Im mad jealous. Anyways, my 1st post. Its been Rad.

Actaully, We talked about that after at the next light....He had just broken 800 miles and that was the first time he really Goosed it. So all and all Its a drivers race Stock 04' VS slightly modded 00'-03'
was the IS300 dark gray/charcoal? how do you know if you see a peter farrell IS300 (i have no idea)? i had a guy in an IS300 try to race me over the weekend and he sounded like he was boosting (not sure....radio on and gf talking), but i didn't b/c i had like a 150lbs of books in the trunk plus the girl in the car too (ughh).
I had some friends drive my car. All pre-04 owners and very competant drivers( avid auto-crossers). And both agreed on it beeing quicker then a stock 04. As far as handeling though, i even noticed its much softer, and also the steering wheel re-quires more effort to turn the same amount of distance.

Yeah the 04 are a little faster in the drag department but a little slower in the corner department. I guess they have to keep on adjusting the car. If you want extreme cornering etc... Get aftermarket suspension. If not with stock its more than enough to out handle most cars on the road

Crazie it's hard to tell by feel. Case in point....my friend sold his 03Gt w/ h-pipie, catback, pullies, chip,CAI, and gears. He got an 03 Mach 1 and raved about how it felt so much faster. We took it to the track and it ran .1 mph faster then the Gt in the same track conditions (temp and humidity).
Personally I feel the dyno numbers don't lie. If someone in an 00 is beating an 04' then it is due to the dirver and nothing more.
