My 02 AP1 is dead stock with 68k i just have the top off the airbox

we raced at least 5 times tonite. we went from a 30 roll everytime.
every race he pulled a car in 2nd and by the end of 3rd he was pullin at least 5 car lengths. i ahd a passenger he didnt. we raced top up and ac off. pretty impressed with his h2b swapped EM1. his car will spin 1st 2nd and 3rd from a dig.

 

 

dude's making maybe 195-200whp. your making around the same. hes probably only got 250lbs on you, should have been a real close race. put your airbox lid on, it KILLS your low end, and really does nothing on the top end.

 

were you starting in 2nd gear at 30mph? because 30mph is absolutely perfect to be in 1st gear for an AP1...most people just dont want to have the extra shift

 

.... put your damn airlid box on. it hurts performance. also, race at a different speed, you are out of vtec at 30mph in second gear

 

My brother runs a similar setup.....he has a 95 Dx coupe with an H22 and a couple other mods such as a VAFC and other goodies....

but he's been known to take out Supra's in Cali lol.....we're in Jersey now and I ordered some parts

H22B set ups are killer. ITR gearing with 2.2 liters is Amazing. I would chose that build over a kseries any day.

 

na i was in first gear everytime. i will puit the airbox lid on tonite and ridfe by myself and see what happens. also i didnt have any gas what so ever if that means anything.??

 

oh hell yea.
driving his car is sooo much fun. we took a new mustang gt california package which supposly has more hp with diff intake nad exhaust by bout 2 cars.

 

then if you were in 1st gear the driving isnt a factor IMO unless you shifted horribly (which i doubt). 30mph is perfect for an AP1 in 1st. 45 is perfect for 2nd, 63 is perfect for 3rd etc. so if he were to ask YOU what YOU wanted to start at, 30mph should be your choice. so the fact that yall just happened to start at 30mph was an advantage for you (esp since he spins all the way through third).

Also, you not having much gas would only make you faster because it's less weight. if you had a full tank you wouldve been slightly more behind. his car must just be faster. if yougot beat THAT bad, the airbox isnt going to help you gain 5 cars back. you may see a car length difference. i think you'll still get waxed though
