Ahh spring time. After a long winters wait, the cold weather drawl comes to an end and the sports cars (and bikes!) start to come out to play. I have had the s2000 out of storage for a few weeks now with nothing really interesting happening (except a highway race with an old civic hatch that seemed to be 'not stock' as it hung in there pretty well over 130 mph falling not too far back). Anyways, never is it too long until two sportscars paths intertwine and male egos commence to collide

I doubt it was an 03 Cobra... the 01's look very similar. An 03 could have ripped your doors off under anything other than hard cornering. At the higher speeds you mentioned there is no way you could have held him off if it was an 03. A SC'ed S2000 would not be able to hold the 03 Cobra off at those speeds. A modded 03 Cobra will pull on a 600cc sportbike at higher speeds... I can assure you of this.

 

Stock, definitely not as fast as a 600. There's a vid of a Cobra that supposedly had out 450-480 rwhp racing an R6 up to about 150 mph...The R6 pulled pretty good until about 150 or so.

I'm sure derryck knows which vid I'm talking about. This was also down in FL.

 

Sorry, it was an 03 cobra. I know exactly what they look like and how they differ from previous versions. I even work for a "FORD" production plant and there are PLENTY of 03 cobras in the lots here. So yes, it was a 03 cobra. I am 1000% sure, there is no debate in that point at all.

 

What are your mods? Are you SC?

 

It wasn't a 03' Cobra, it will give you a hurting unless the race involves deep braking into twisties.

I know that guy...his name is Jeff, and in that video if you notice he spun out at like 120...as we was cut off by some car. And he was catching up fast...he has an 01 Cobra with a Vortech..

My Cobra will pull on a 600cc bike,I put on a chip on mine and have hit 176mph and had more in her, their is a video of it, i was racing 2 H/C trans-ams...on the highway the DOHC motor is very strong...and in no way would any type of s2k have a chance...

I raced a CBR 900 from a stop a few days ago. Yeah, I knew I was going to get my ass kicked, but I figured it'd be fun to see. He gave me props, I gave him props, then he proceeded to absolutely rape me. I had a perfect start and I was ahead of him for like... a foot.
