well yesterday night i was driving thru niles down dempster goin to my cousins bbq. i recognize the HIDs coming up from behind me and behold its an 04 berlina black s2k. at first i was kinda debating whether or not to run because of the bastard cops of niles. we both downshift and talk briefly and exchange a few good words about each others cars. his girlfriend yells out he wants to race you, so we downshift to second at 15mph and i wait till he honks to three. at the third honk i punch it and immediately jump up in front, shift to third i have a car length, shift to fourth car and a half, and then at about 95ish i shut it down. He said he had an intake and catback exhaust which sounded so damn nice btw...lol..and as for me im stock. cool guy and fun night nonetheless. i cant wait till my performance goodies come in from UPS.

this is right where i would think an EVO would pull. if he was in 2nd lag prolly hurt him pretty bad though.

 

If you plan on running an Evo you better be at sitting at 6k when you take off

 

i raced a stock wrx with my stock s2000 and i only pulled about 1 and a half cars because i started off at like 4500 rpms in 2nd.

The S should be in first at 15mph. If you both were in second, VTEC will take longer than the turbo to spool up.

 

yeah. sounds like both of you started in 2nd gear.

 

maybe he just assumed the S was in second because he was in second? what is top of first gear for ap2?

 

I believe top of first when i tested it out was 37-38 mph, then pretty much add about 21 mph for each gear shifted up. I only tested to 4th so it went 37-38, 59, 80, 100... Can anyone clarify on this? I think those are the numbers i got.

 

doh. i just re-read the posts. i thought he was driving an S2k.


in all honesty....that is what i would expect from a race between the 2. next time go to 1st.

 

i think if both cars went in 1st gear, the EVO would probably win by a little more than it did. ??
