I have a Comptech and it doesn't really start to build boost until about 4-5,000 rpm. Driving around town, flooring it at 2-3000 it feels just like an S with 50lb extra weight, a loose AC belt (the whine), and a CAI (the intake noise). However, when the VTEC cam hits, it really HITS. Awesome top end.

I'm very happy with the mod, just clarifying that it does not change the character of the car at all, it amplifies it.

A friend and I looked at (and he test drove) some supercharged S2K's during the SESM.

We came to the same conclusion. Not much down low, but when it comes on, it pulls hard and you will go fast.

But the question remains, is it worth it?

Is it worth it? Hmmmmm???? YES! I just ran a track event this past weekend at Sebring Raceway and on the back straight when before the Porsche 944 T's would pull away, now they are moving over I know that is not a very scientific evaluation but it put a very large grin on my face keeping up with and passing very expensive cars !
I love my Comptech !

so an LS1 may run 13.0s, but yet on a roll an S can keep up. why? an s has a horrible launch, yet youve seen S's with small bolt ons run mid 13s. that means it pulls WAY hard in the mid and top range.

Like Dut said... Bugs are either really slow or really fast! I know a guy that swapped a Porsche engine into his 196? bug and it moves... I forgot the swap... might've been a 944 turbo? But it was 12's and fast... the funny thing was it just looked like an ordinary bug! He had the Porsche Mag wheels so only an enthusiast would know what's up...

LOL, I was thinking the same thing when he pulled on us. I was like damn I gotta start modding the EVO, I have just been putting it off since I usually beat most cars as it is right now With the mods I want for the EVO, downpipe, ecu, cams, water injection, and with my catback it should be a mid to low 12 sec car, lol not bad for just over $2K

I'll keep you posted...Im sure you'll see more kill stories from me...

I saw a bug that would've ran my s2000 at the time... He launched on everyone, modded Type R's, civic hatches, everyone!!! I came across the same bug at the night races in my M... but didn't run him, I ended up running a TTZ and was very suprised how he kept up with me 0-60, but I walked after that...
