Default 04r1 Vs 03 Zx12r

My 04 R1 has now a full Arata Ti system and a PCIIIR. The 12R has a fully Muzzy system, PCIIIR and a board kit (1330cc+ I think).

My 04 is making 172rwhp...his 12R is making 191rwhp. I weigh 165 lbs, he weighs 215 lbs....

From 80 to 160mph...from a roll...he had me by about 2 bikes...

From the start I would beat him to 100mph by about 3 bikes (1st gear on the R1)...he would then simply shut off as...couldn't keep it grounded.

** power ain't shit if you can't keep it grounded **

Those bikes are so fast, I can't even imagine trying to ride one. I tried to ride my friends 600cc and i almost popped a wheelie and dumped it trying to take off lol.

I bought a new R1 about 3 months ago or so...I got rid of the ol'gixx03.

Overall, I am 100% satisfied with my decision. The gixxer has more torque and more midrange but, that is what kept getting me in trouble in exiting corners.

The R1 is faster, feels lighter, handles better, looks better. Do I miss the torque....well, I can't say I won't but for my riding style, the R1 fits better.

Nice! The torque is just a sprocket change away though

Holy $hit! How did you sell your STI and S2K so quickly? I remember not too long ago, you were just asking for opinions whether to sell them for a Z06, and now you've sold them?

Ended up getting $ 18,000 on trade on the S...bare, took everything out of it so I think with all the extra stuff, I am actually getting $ 2,000 more by the time I get done shipping everything. The STi wasn't pretty...I ended up taking $ 26,000 on trade...but, for the shape it was in it was fair.

Plus, keep in mind I ended up saving about $ 3,500 on sales tax....I end up getting about $ 4,500 back so I bought a Ranger truck to haul parts around..hehehe, and as a beater.
