dunno, if it was or wasnt. Did a quick google search and motortrend ran a 2000ws6 13.5 in the 1/4. doesnt "seem" like it should walk away...
magazine times dont show the story.... a good driver is low low 13's all day long in a ws6 LS1 car. they trap 106-107 on average..some as high as 108-109...which is 5mph, on average, more than a mild s2k
my buddies slp optioned SS (lid filter and catback/tune) went mid 12's at 109mph with bald drag radials

LT1 car tho, is a good race with a s2k... from the rear, and side they sorta look like the ls1 cars... only the front end gives them away.

so it might have been an lt1 car. they run high 13's at 100-102 well driven

probably raced a LT1, they are slow. LS1 would have put a few cars on you.

either way it was fun.
Motortrend? Do they even know how to launch a car? How about Popular Mechanics who ran a 13.15 on a hot day in LA.

I was stock when I ran a WS6 with I/H/E and the amount he pulled on me was fairly substantial... but take all that out and give the S some mods?

My ex-wife had a 99 formula (V8) auto and I could pull on her just a bit. not THAT much difference between that and the WS6.

either your ex-wife wasn't pushing it, she couldn't drive, or the car had something wrong with it, because even an auto LS1 will pull hard on an S2000.

an auto ls1 is faster then a manual ls1. it's widely known on the ls1 sites.

in a 1/4 mile from a stop, maybe. From a roll at any given speed, no. The auto trans won't shift down at certain speeds, whereas the driver of a manual, if they know their car, can hit the right gear for the speed.

If I'm not mistaken, Many a Firebirds are WS6. The WS6 refers to the suspension. My Dad used to have a firebird and it had the WS6 suspension. WS6 doesn't mean anything here just, LS1, LT1, Big V8 matters.
