So I'm cruising with my friend in his TL, with very light mods. All he has is CAI, pulleys, 18 or 19inch privat wheels, and he removed the resonator. Car is pretty clean and has the EXACT same exhaust note as a G35. So needless to say he's always getting hit up. BTW his cars Auto

Anyways back to the story, we're driving down Macarthur blv. which if you live in OC area is a VERY nice/LONG straight away We see a red RX8 pull up at a light and it looks pretty clean. Had a nice non ricey body kit on it, stock rims, and after market dual exhaust. We actually admire it and just cruise with it for a bit. Next stop light I see him checking our car out. Light goes green, and we cruise off, I tell my friend dude he's off the throttle trying to hear your exhaust. Sure enough all of a sudden I hear him gun it; he pulls for a brief second then my friend get on it. The RX8 falls back about 1 1/2 cars, and never catches us. I have new respect for the Acura TL, and loss the little respect I had for RX8's. He pulls up, and goes slow, we give him the

Lightly moded 05 TL beats mods unknown RX8 from a roll. TL had 2 passengers, RX8 driver only. And even more fuel to the fire we had our front windows down

 

Rx8 is very slow in a straight line, he might have been an auto too

 

even auto TLs arent a joke. they can suprise more than a few cars on the road.

yeah i raced my friends rsx type s ..... of course the S won, then it was a race between Type s and a 06 acura TL auto. the tl kept on pulling in the type S and the TL had 3 people in it and the type S only had 2.

And yeah there's not very much to mod with that generation of TLs its the same with the new Accords.

are you sure it sounds just like a g35? i use to own one and drove a bunch of tl's and none of them sounded like a g. just sayin.

also race my cousins Clean a$$ TL on the hwy. i got a head jump and stayed even the rest of the way.

 

6-sp TL can trap as high as an S2000. Auto may be a tad slower.

 

i think TL's with exhaust mods sound much better than G/350's

TL's are sick as hell, i wish i had one for a daily driver.

 

TL is one great looking sedan.
