Default 05s2k few mods vs 07s2k stock

my buddy recently picked up an 07 white s2k with the black and red interior. damn thing is hawt! so we went and did two runs 1-4th gear.

05 s2k
berk header/test pipe comptech intake
tein ra cusco strut bar
full audio system
18" bbs lms

07 s2k
stock

first run we were dead even.

second run he yanked hard on the 1-2 shift, he said he powershifted it and his clutch grabbed ie no cdv interference, well you can hear what my car did in the 1-2 shift. CDV FTL

over all, i am not mad. my car weighs about 50 lbs more then his between my porky ass and the stereo stuff. then throw in the heavier 18's.

anyways, heres the vids

http://h22civic.com/videos/S2000/05s2kvs07s2krun2.mpg

and this is just a litle 40-100 pull started low in third gear and fourth.

so i decided enough small mods, boost or nothing

I got a new MY07 and they are pretty quick, dusted an 04 M3 SMG, and 350Z with just my CAI and no spare and tools. My plans with this car are to lighten and do small subtle mods with eventually doing a supercharger. I feel like with I/H/TP/E/Hondata Reflash I should put down close......to 225whp. With my light butt and no spare/tools/lighter wheels, exhaust clutch etc I should hang with GTO's, lightly modded STI's, lightly modded G37's and modded evo's!!!

With those mods, You Very well should be able to pull that off. I'm surprised nobody on here has any dyno sheets of a tuned AP2 (bolt ons) with a stand alone. You should be able to pull out 230+ on a dynojet and 245+ on a dynapack.

+1...

the M3 pushes in the 300RWHP range... yeah its heavier but the difference in HP makes up for it.

much love for the S2000 but the M3 would take the win. especially if all you have done is a CAI.

not so sure it will be as good as you hope. the stock ecu comes pretty aggressively tuned. i threw a wide band on my s and was in the 13.3-13.7 range wot. not much room there to lean it out. now, if you have cams, lager tb or itb, then yeah a standalone will help ya out. only real improvement i woudl see throwing a standalone on an na basic bolt on ap2 is lowering vtec and gaining some more midrange. but that wont help much in drag race, your above that point in each gear

Indeed. Has anyone ever tried? The beefier mid range and the extra redline should more than enough put you in the 13.50's range easily.
